About Us
Welcome to the Crew
Why You Are Here
If you’ve ever stared at a project in your own garage, holding a wrench and wondering if you're completely out of your depth—you are in the right place.
We believe that at the core of every great build is a simple mindset: Rely On Yourself (ROY). If you want your life, your projects, or your skills to change, you are the one who has to make it happen. But that doesn’t mean you have to figure it out completely alone.
Our goal is to help you go further and faster on your own journey by giving you the exact lessons, mistakes, and blueprints we pick up along the way.
What You’ll Get From Us
We show up every single day to bring you along for the ride. Whether you are working on a complex classic car restoration, diving into custom truck fabrication, or tackling a modern LS engine swap, we design everything on this site to do three things for you:
-
Entertain: Wrenching should be fun. We share the raw, unpolished reality of the garage—the wins, the garage-floor laughs, and the late-night breakthroughs.
-
Educate: We don’t hide our mistakes; we look at them as tuition. We break down the technical details, custom fabrication steps, and mechanical setups so you can apply those shortcuts to your own workbench.
-
Share the Lessons: We regularly take on projects we don’t always know how to finish, figuring it out as we go. When we solve a roadblock, we immediately pass that knowledge down to you.
Built on Grit. Driven by Community.
The ROY Garage started in 2020 with a blue-collar mindset and a commitment to authenticity. We don't care about perfection—we care about uniqueness and consistency. Big builds and major life changes happen when you just keep showing up to the workbench, even when it’s not easy.
Through our automotive YouTube channel and our line of premium, heavy-duty shop gear and apparel, we are building a community of builders, fabricators, and DIY enthusiasts who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and build something meaningful.
Save Yourself a Few Mistakes
We track our parts lists, project blueprints, and design layouts directly from the workbench so you can skip the trial-and-error. Join the crew to get our latest build notes and limited apparel drops delivered straight to your inbox.

Meet the Crew
Every build takes a mix of engineering, heavy lifting, and big ideas. Here are the guys behind the wrenches, camera cuts, and late-night shop sessions at The ROY Garage:

Jake — The Mastermind & Content Engine
If a part fits on the first try, you can thank Jake. He’s our resident engineer, project planner, CAD designer, and research specialist who makes sure our wild garage ideas actually work in the real world. Beyond calculating tolerances and diving deep into technical specs, Jake is a key player in keeping our weekly video pipeline moving—editing footage, managing the finances, and ensuring there’s always fresh content dropping on schedule.

Greg — Facility Developer, Scrap Specialist & Shop Muscle
Every garage needs someone who can lift the heavy iron and constantly push the shop forward. That’s Greg. He isn't just our Facility Manager and primary source of raw horsepower—he’s constantly thinking about how to maintain, upgrade, and develop our facilities for the future. Through his legendary knack for sourcing, organizing, and repurposing, Greg turns salvaged items into functional shop upgrades.

Lee — The Visionary & Strategy Engine
Lee is the big-picture thinker driving the vision and business backend of The ROY Garage. From drafting our step-by-step blog guides and video edits to executing growth strategies and business development, Lee handles the brainwork that keeps the lights on and the content flowing. If there’s a new project on the horizon or a story to tell, Lee is the one making it happen.
Beyond the Workbench
The ROY Garage is 8 years in the making, and it actually didn’t start with turning wrenches.
While we love the fabrication, engine swaps, and shop floor wins, the principles that built this garage go way deeper than metal and oil. It’s about building a life on your own terms, funding your passion projects, and creating a sustainable path forward without burning out.
